MASBO Representative to SASBO Emerging Leaders Committee

The Southeastern Association of School Business Officials (SASBO) Board has asked each state to appoint a representative to an Emerging Leader Committee to help lead SASBO into the future.  This committee assists SASBO with innovative new ideas that have turned into meaningful events and communication channels for SASBO members.

 If you meet the minimum qualifications and understand all requirements and are interested in applying for this appointment, please complete the application beginning on page 2.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
 

  1. Must be a MASBO member of no less than three (3) years and must be a current member of SASBO.  Must have served as a School Business Manager or as an Assistant School Business Manager for no less than three (3) years and no longer then ten (10) years.  Must be currently serving as a School Business Manager or as an Assistant School Business Manager.
  2. Must have the full support of their Superintendent to attend and participate in Committee meetings and activities. Travel expenses will be paid by either SASBO or MASBO.  MASBO will not pay travel to the annual SASBO Conference.
  3. The term of appointment is three (3)-years or until such time the appointee might become a member of the MASBO Board of Directors.  The term will begin in February of the year of appointment and will end in January two (2) years subsequent.
  4. Must attend the SASBO Leadership Conference held in January of each year. Travel expenses will be paid by MASBO.
  5. If at any time the SASBO State Director might be unable to attend a SASBO board meeting, the Emerging Leader would be expected to attend instead.  In that situation, travel expenses will be paid by either SASBO or MASBO.
  6. The Emerging Leader appointee will be included on the board agenda following each meeting of the committee to report to the MASBO board on committee activities.  They will also participate in the SASBO report given at the Annual MASBO Conference held in February.  MASBO will not pay travel expenses to the Annual MASBO Conference or to any MASBO Board meetings.

This statement must be signed and dated by the Superintendent of the district and returned with the application in order to be considered.
